UANI Calls on Hilton Hotels to Refuse to Host President Ahmadinejad

New York, NY - United Against Nuclear Iran (UANI) on Tuesday called on Hilton Hotels to refuse to host President Ahmadinejad during his stay in New York for the meeting of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in September.

In a letter to Christopher J. Nassetta, the President and Chief Executive Officer of Hilton Worldwide, and Louis Llach, the General Manager of the Hilton Manhattan East, UANI President, Ambassador Mark D. Wallace wrote:

United Against Nuclear Iran (“UANI”) has learned that the Hilton Manhattan East (“Hilton”) is in discussions to host Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and his cohorts during their stay in New York for the United Nations General Assembly in September 2010.

By this letter, UANI requests that the Hilton immediately clarify and reconsider its decision and instead decline to host President Ahmadinejad.

****

Simply put, it is an outrageous affront to the residents of New York City that you would host this man and his delegation.  All Americans should reject your hotel and all Hilton hotels worldwide if you choose to host this illegitimate 9/11 denying regime.

****

If the Hilton continues with its plans to serve as a host to President Ahmadinejad, UANI will take action against the Hilton hotel chain worldwide.  UANI will call on its activists to peacefully protest your properties, and will call for a general public boycott of all Hilton properties.

Moreover, please consider this letter a formal request to all Hilton properties to decline any and all hotel reservation and/or event reservation booking requests made by the Iranian government worldwide.
