UANI Announces Launch of "He's Not Welcome Here" Advertising Campaign
New York, NY -
United Against Nuclear Iran
(UANI) today announced the launch of a billboard campaign targeted
around
President Ahmadinejad's recent visit to New York City. UANI
last week called on all New York City
hotels to refuse to host President Ahmadinejad.
While the majority of
hotels made the responsible decision to isolate the brutal regime, the Millennium Hotel is
playing host to the government of the world's leading state sponsor of
terrorism.
The advertising campaign includes a billboard located in Times
Square at the corner of 48th Street and 7th Avenue in New
York City as well
as panel displays throughout
Grand Central Station. The billboard features an
image of President
Ahmadinejad and the message "He's Not Welcome Here."
Speaking about UANI's advertising campaign, UANI President Ambassador
Mark D.
Wallace said:
President Ahmadinejad is not welcome in New York City and no
venue should play host to this brutal regime. We condemn the
short-sighted decision of the Millennium Hotel to put its own economic
gain
ahead of the strategic interests of the United States.
International
corporations have shunned the Iranian regime by ending their business
in Iran,
yet the Millennium has rolled out the red carpet to legitimize a leader
who has
called the attacks of September 11, 2001 a 'big lie.' We call
on our
supporters to apply financial pressure against Iran.
The Millennium's decision to host President Ahmadinejad is directly
contrary to
the wishes of other New York Hotels and venues that have refused to
host this
regime including, The Helmsley Hotel, Gotham Hall, The Essex House, and
the
InterContinental The Barclay.
